Safe Payment Methods (Bizum / Cash)

Use Spain's official instant mobile payment system Bizum or cash in hand during face-to-face meetings. Avoid anonymous wallets.

Rental Prepayment Caution

Never wire deposits or advance payments to 'landlords abroad' prior to viewing the apartment and signing a lease.

Beware of External Links & Phishing

Scammers may send phishing links disguised as fake courier services (Correos, DHL). Never enter your credit card on external links.

Scam Warning Signs (Red Flags)

  • Seller or landlord refuses a phone call or face-to-face meeting.
  • Price is unrealistically low (50-70% below Spanish market value).
  • Request to pay 'courier delivery fees' via a link sent in chat.
  • Urgent demands to wire a deposit due to 'overwhelming demand'.
